First trip to a scrappy to pick up various engine bits that are
needed - alternator adjustable bracket, fan and pulley, a new
rocker cover and bolts (as the Tiger supplied one was a bit
rusty and battered), a cam belt cover, distributor mounting
bracket, coil, and fuel pump push rod and spacer. Tried to get
to the water pump pulley, but it was impossible to get the
radiator fan off the pulley - a specially shaped spanner is
needed.
Spent the afternoon cleaning and degreasing the bits. Turns out the holes in the alternator fan and pulley are too big for the alternator I have - will have to try and get some the right size.

Tiger open day. Picked up some more bits - roll bars, gearbox
mounting bolt, extra sump bolts (I only got 6 in the engine),
modified gear lever, track rod end lock nuts, and main
alternator bracket. Took back the standard sump that was on
the engine when I got it, and also the templates for the
floor panels.
Good turnout for the open day, though it was a shame the Storm wasn't there for me to have another look at - there were some minor adjustments that needed to be made to the exhaust before I could get mine, so its away having that done. Sue said that the exhaust should be ready some time in September, depending on how long it takes to be made.
Poked around all of the Sixes that were there, as there were a few things I wanted to check out.
Jim borrowed all of the photos that I have of the chassis, as he wanted to scan them in for use in the build manual. I'll be getting copies of the scanned pictures as well, so they will be put on the site when I get them.

Checked the gearlever in the gearbox, and it all seems to be
working fine - can select all 6 gears, though it is a bit
clanky without any oil in it...
Tried to fit the gearbox mounting bolt, but it doesn't fit as its not a standard M12 fit. Will have to try and get a proper bolt.
The roll bars were primed, ready to be painted black. Thought that green to match various other bits would end up looking just a bit too silly.
